Brad’s happy moments from this portion of the trip were a walk on a nature trail with the puppies,
getting to see the Air & Space museum,
and parallel parking the camper! Sorry – forgot a photo of that!
Libby’s happy moments were the amazing weather (comparatively speaking), getting coffee with her good friend, Suzy B., who we also forgot to photograph, and Friendsgiving with the Powell family.
Ross & Marisa carted us around D.C. in the trunk of their SUV so that we didn’t have to park the camper anywhere downtown! We were also able to park in a church parking lot and plug in one night. The second night we didn’t even need to plug in; it was so warm.
Leo acquired a few more tick-friends, which stresses us out! Luckily, we could remove them without too much trouble. He is up to 8 ticks now. This side of the world is infested!
Nora, Dash, and Olive (the Powell kids) were great at playing tour guide for us. They are full of energy and adorable.
They were also great helpers with walking the dogs. Their cats weren’t so happy to have us visit! We are sure they were glad when we said good-bye!
Our next adventure took us to Norfolk, VA to see the Halls. This was our first glimpse of the Atlantic Ocean.
Libby grew up with Toby. He lived right around the corner from her in Bloomington. His distinguished military career has moved his family all around the country. Recently, they have found themselves in VA and we were happy to get to spend quality time with them. And, we got to add another brewery to our list.
Charleston, SC was next where Destiny Cafe is located. Upon arrival, we found Regina alone without any volunteer help. We jumped into action and helped with dishes.
We had a quick bite to eat before making our way to the water’s edge were we got to dip our toes in the ocean. This was Leo & Gemini’s first salt water experience.
Now, it’s on to Savannah!
I haven’t commented much, but have been following your grand tour! Happy Thanksgiving to you both, however you make it! Savannah has a great “old town”!
